The Pantaloons reimagine Shakespeare in vibrant and anarchic retellings, drawing from a wide variety of popular theatre traditions, from commedia dell’arte and pantomime to stand-up comedy and silent movies. Their imaginative productions invite the audience to become co-creators of the play-world, resulting in humorous and uplifting performances. Dr Stephen Purcell is the Artistic Director of The Pantaloons and an Associate Professor of Shakespeare and Performance Studies at Warwick University. Dr Zoë Hudson is the Designer for The Pantaloons, and is a social historian and theatre practitioner.
